On August 15, 2010 two brothers and residents of Sialkot, Mughees and Muneeb, were beaten to death in front of a crowd which included members of the district police. The incident was recorded in a video by a spectator which was later used by news broadcasting stations.[1]
Muneeb (aged 17) and Mughees (aged 15) were both residents of Sialkot. On 15 August 2010, they were accused of robbery and were killed by a mob. Recorded video showed police officers being a part of the observing crowd present at the incident.
Both crime victims, according to their acquaintances, were good-natured who had never been involved in any illegal acts. Law enforcement agencies started an investigation of the incident.
Shams Ali, one of the accused involved in the killing of the two brothers has claimed that he carried out the murders at the behest of the former District Police Officer of Sialkot Waqar Chauhan.[2]
